Artist statement

My process explores an experimental investigation into the nuance and similarity between new materialism and psychoanalysis. Whilst new materialism is concerned with the way that objects influence people and people influence objects, psychoanalysis is intrested in the way that people affect one another and how the subconscious mind narrates the experience of an individual or collective community. New materialism is situated in the physical realm and psychoanalysis is situated within the nonphysical subconscious realm, they are both concerned with the human experiences and the interaction between certain things. I am curious about this contradiction and how to represent it. Therefore, I use different materials to explore this contradiction. I use my own experiences as a starting point and see how they reflect as a collective experience within different communities
